After a fantastic meeting with the entire RSS Pieces team, we topped off our busy day with a late evening dinner with Cyndee Haydon, George Simms and Sharon Simms, the # 1 ranked real estate blogger on Active Rain.
While driving down Sharon’s street, we noticed real estate sign after sign with her name on it. Quite impressive. After we pulled into her driveway, we gathered our gear and marched up to the front door, bloggerazzi style. Sharon greeted us with a huge smile and a hug. George then followed suit.

We gave them a look see at the RV before it got dark and somehow, we ended up across the street at a home under construction. George led the way up the cockeyed stairs (code violation for sure) to the second floor. The view of the bay was amazing. As we snapped photos and talked building codes, Cyndee Hayden arrived at the house. Soon after, Cyndee and Sharon joined us dudes for a nice sunset.

Now before I go any further, I want you to know that George is a retired architect and engineer. Listening to him talk about the flaws in this new construction home was quite educational. George really knows his stuff. He pointed out this concrete room with 4 walls that essentially served no purpose. Was it a design flaw? A burial plot? Who knows. But it was fun guessing wasn’t it George?

After scoping out this new 3 level construction McMansion, we walked back to the RV to get their autographs. Then it was time to get to know each other.
George and Sharon are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. The first order of business was to place our drink orders. George had so much to choose from, how the heck would we pick? I walked back to the garage with George and he showed me his secret stash. Nice.

As the evening moved along, the conversations really got deep. Everything from commissions, agency, Active Rain, other websites, advertising, marketing, internet ROI and of course blogging. I think we almost went through two 90 minute video tapes. Sharon and Cyndee know real estate. Intense.
I learned that Sharon has always been an early adopter of new online technologies. If it’s on the internet, she’s probably tried it or will try it. Because of her strong internet presence, she does get business from it. All clients however, are not a perfect match for her. That’s where her team comes into play. Sharon’s family is the business with her and each has a unique niche. Together, they can divvy up the leads and referrals based on their area of expertise and personality traits. It helps them be more productive. If my memory serves me correctly, ironically, neither of Sharon’s children blog. For more details, you’ll just have to wait for the video.

Before we knew it, it was 2am. Good times fly by fast. We said our goodbyes to Cyndee who had to drive home and then Sharon assigned us each a separtate room. Ahhhhh. How nice was that. A real bed with linens.
We all went bed and when we woke up around 7am, Sharon was already out of the house and at the gym. Now that’s dedication. You go girl! George on the other hand was sound asleep. We left them a thank you note and headed off for Atlanta.
